Large masterpiece by the well-known German painter Professor Dr. Konrad Alexander Müller-Kurzwelly 1855 Chemnitz to 1914 Berlin with the title "Evening Peace" exhibited in the large Berlin art exhibition in 1904 (verso with exhibition work number). Studied philosophy, history and art history in Jena, M-K received his doctorate in philosophy in 1881. 1881-1885 studied art at the Berlin Academy master class in landscape painting under Hans Fredrik Gude. Acquaintance with Walter Leistikow and Paul Müller-Kaempff. Connections to the artists' colonies Ahrenshoop, Rügen Hiddensee and Eckensund. 1883 Member of the Association of Berlin Artists. 1892 founding member of the "artist group the 11" (forerunner of the Berlin Secession) under Max Liebermann. From 1883 onwards, constantly represented in the Berlin Salon and at the major Berlin art exhibition. M-K was a realistic landscape painter and was inspired by the Barbizon school. He knew how to masterfully reproduce special moods in his work and enchants the viewer as if he were right there.
