Nils Peder Christiansen 1873-1960 grazing horses oil canvas

Beautiful original landscape painting by the well-known Danish landscape and animal painter Niels Peter Christiansen 1873-1960. In typical style, Ch. painted this rural idyll with grazing horses. He studied at the Technical Academy in Denmark and traveled extensively through Europe, Turkey, Palestine and Egypt. He exhibited in Charlottenburg in 1917 and became a member of the Society of Artists on November 18th that year. Christiansen prefers landscapes with domestic animals in a naturalistic interpretation. His works can be found in various museums and private collections and are sold internationally, primarily in Scandinavian galleries and auction houses, including Christies in London. The work is painted in oil on canvas, it is bottom left N.CHn. monogrammed.Dimensions: 67 by 97 cm. The work is in good condition, with a small dent in the sky at the top left.
