Johannes August Fischer (born March 11, 1854 in Copenhagen - June 6, 1921) was a Danish landscape and architectural painter, brother of the famous Paul Fischer.
Fischer was the son of the painter, later painter and Fernis maker Philip August Fischer (1817-1907) and Gustafva Albertina Svedgren (1827-83). Married to Adolphine Sophie Laursen, born on November 3, 1889 in Tange, Lysgård Herred. In 1869 he began his training at the Art Academy in Copenhagen. But in October he decided to become a painter. From 1874 to 1922 he exhibited his works in Chalottenborg. Fischer went on study trips to Spain, Italy, Germany and France. Some of his pictures come from Nuremberg and Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Venice and Florence. Most of his works can be found in private collections and in museums in Copenhagen and Berlin. Fischer's works achieve good results in international auction houses, reaching prices of over €3,000. Results are stored in the relevant art prize lists.
