Heinrich Blunck

The artist was born on April 30, 1891 as the son of the stone printer Otto
Blunck was born in Kiel. In his father's lithographic art institute
Heinrich Blunck received artistic support from an early age. He started in 1909
He studied painting at the art academy in Munich, which he began in 1912
continued at the Kassel Art Academy. There he became a master student
by Georg Burmester and, in addition to painting, has also become very successful
using various graphic techniques.


Graphics - especially graphics - take an important role in his artistic work
Lithography - occupies a considerable place. Blunck found his motives in the
West coast, on the island of Alsen, in the mountains and especially in the
Provost's office. The rural surroundings with their typical buildings were
his subject. The seasons played an important role in this
Design: the incidence of light and shadow formation, the leafy fullness
Treetops in summer and the bare trees in lush snow land-
shaft.

After the First World War, Georg Burmester and Heinrich Blunck
In 1920 they shared a studio on the island of Alsen in the bell tower of the Au-
Gustenburg Castle furnished. In 1923 Heinrich Blunck married her
Daughter of the local medical council, Käte Thede, and followed her
Heikendorf. The son Ottheinrich, born in 1924, died as a soldier in 1943
Russia.

Heinrich Blunck, who took over the management of Burmester's painting school in 1925
took, was heavily involved since 1929 as chairman of the Schleswig-
Holstein Art Cooperative.
