"Mother with child" drypoint etching, monogrammed CL 1905 in the top left of the plate. WVZ Schwarz 25 .2. Plate dimensions 24 x 17.5 cm. Sheet 35 x 28 cm. Strong print on vellum.
Provenance: Private collection Hamburg. Corinth studied at the Königsberg Art Academy since 1876, Munich in 1880, Julian Paris in 1883. From 1888 Berlin, worked in Munich since 1891. Founded a painting school in Berlin in 1901, member of the Berlin Secession, in 1918 he was awarded the title of professor by the Berlin Academy of the Arts. In 1923 he presented his works together with Max Liebermann and Oskar Kokoschka at the major Berlin art exhibition.
