Bernard Schumacher Neumünster Stolper Lake Stolpe with Perdöler oaks

View over Lake Belauer in a hilly landscape.Berhard Schumacher was born in Akyap/Rangoon (India). After studying in London, he was a member of the Royal Academy of Arts at the age of 22. His drawings won prizes and were published early on. Due to an illness during military service, Schumacher ended up in Neumünster, where he set up his studio at Kleinflecken 22. His works include important, sophisticated etchings of various views of our city, including an oil painting of the Anscharkirche. He was a contemporary of Arch. Roß and building officer Reese.
