Product description
View over meadows and fields near Gross Kummerfeld.
Atmospheric work by the self-taught Erich Eyler.
E. based his painting style on the Berlin School and was inspired by artists such as Max Werner and Rudolf Stelling.
Erich Eyler was a North German painter whose artistic work was closely linked to the landscape and rural life of Schleswig-Holstein. As an autodidact, he developed his own visual language and dedicated himself in particular to depicting landscapes and rural motifs.
His works reflect his connection to his North German homeland. In his painting there are influences of an impressionistic approach, in which the atmospheric effect of the landscape and the interplay of light and color play an important role.
Contemporary historical evidence of his artistic activity is a film made in 1960 by the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Agriculture, which documents the Wilhelminenhof in Groß Kummerfeld near Neumünster and shows Eyler as an oil painter.
Eyler is one of the regional artists whose work has a connection to the art and cultural history of Schleswig-Holstein.
