Dimensions 35 x 28 cm. 1859 Karlsruhe Art School 1861 Düsseldorf student Hans Gude, 1880-81 longer study trip with Carl Coven Schirm and Adolf von Meckel to Syria, Palestine and Egypt, Bracht then devoted himself increasingly to oriental motifs. Two of his best-known pictures from this period are “Dusk at the Dead Sea” (Berlin National Gallery) and “The Sinai”. 1882 Lecturer at the Berlin Art Academy, appointed professor in 1884. In 1883, one of his major works, "The Battle of Sedan", was created, which Bracht executed together with his colleague Anton von Werner. 1901-1919 Lecturer at the Dresden Art Academy. Bracht died on November 15, 1921 in his hometown of Darmstadt.
