Empire secretary with wooden sugar box top

Here you can see a rare Empire bureau from around 1820 made of mahogany wood (sugar box wood). A very nice place to browse and write. The architecture appears calm and sobering to the viewer, but very luxurious. The interior has columns inlaid in bog oak and maple root as well as ebony.
