Casket around 1800 Empire/Louis Seize

Early classicism inlaid casket from around 1800. Sawn veneer, predominantly local woods were used. The key socket is flush, the surface is polished with shellac. There are plum, cherry, ebony, boxwood, walnut and mahogany on this unique box which can be attributed to the cabinetmaker Friedrich Gottlieb Hoffmann, who worked in Leipzig between 1770 and 1806.
